I was delighted to hear about West Elm opening in Montreal (only 4 years too late – I had to FedEx my sofa from their Toronto store when I first moved into my loft in Montreal) and was somewhat envious of the tote bags shoppers received on opening night. Designed by Montreal illustrator Bess Callard, I considered texting the couple of friends whom I knew were at the opening and having them steal one for me. But I don’t think you’re supposed to steal things when you’re 34.
Imagine my delight when Bess told me today she’s selling the illustration she created for the West Elm tote in her online shop. If you can’t imagine, I’ll tell you. So much delight. It took me about 30 seconds to scoop one up. She’s only made 150, so go over here and get yours.
I mean, I just need to have more Montreal in my new Hamilton life. Isn’t it enough that there are no good restaurants here? Yes, I think so.
